Last Year At Breakthrough

Speaker, Brother Joe Schmidt

Brother Joe Schmidt has spoken at Breakthrough many times, and was here for 2016.

Theme

Each year at camp there is a theme. The theme plays a part in most aspects of the camp. The theme for 2016 was the Olympics, the verse for the theme was Joshua 12:1 and 2.

Morning Rotation

During morning rotation, after breakfast, campers and sponsor will split into three groups. One group will be doing missions, one Bible study, and one recreation, until it's time to rotate where they will go to the next station.

Missions

During missions campers, as well as sponsors, learn about the different missions that are taking place around the world as well as close to home. A few missions we learned about last year were the Texas Baptist Men, Operation Christmas Child, and other personal accounts from missionaries.

Bible Study

During Bible study campers, and sponsors, study the Bible. They are given a booklet to go along with the lesson which has a theme for the week. On the last full day, the campers and sponsors went to prayer stations, where they prayed in groups as they felt called.

Recreation

During recreation, our ratpackers, usually juniors and seniors, organize exciting games for the campers. These usually are tied to the theme in some way. Recreation usually takes place at swank stadium or swank field near the middle of the camp. A few examples can be seen in the nightly videos to the right.
